Working together on both sides of the Mediterranean sea
for a cheaper and greener electricity
Libya-Greece Connector (LGC) is a submarine HVDC cables project linking Greece and Libya.
It has the ambition to enable bidirectional electricity exchange between both sides of Europe and Middle East and North Africa (MENA), therefore improving the security of supply for Europe, facilitate a cost-effective integration of renewable energy projects in Libya and reduce the cost of kWh in both sides of the Mediterranean countries.
It will help reaching European Union external policy objectives: promoting energy transition and integration of renewable energy, as well as regional and local socio-economic welfare, economic cooperation, peace and solidarity.
