Who we are?

GreenTaqa-Libya SA iis the promoter of Libya Greece Connector (LGC) a HVDC Submarine link of 2.000 MW capacity and 2.000 MW solar energy production in Libya destinated for export.

The project will allow to connect both sides of the Mediterranean Sea and will help reaching “European Union Green Deal 2030 objectives” as well as electricity production, industrial integration and development needs in Libya.

In common strategic vision between Mr Riad Grada and Mr. Gassan Anbar to put Libya at the heart of the global renewable energy strategy, in 2011, Mr Grada created GreenTaqa-Libya when Mr. Anbar was a co-founder and the Executive Vice-President of the European initiative MEDGRID, which was a consortium of energy sector companies and institutes. Its purpose was to promote and explore the potential of electrical interconnections between the countries of the Mediterranean basin.

Mr Anbar and Mr Grada also contributed to the Union for the Mediterranean initiative launched on 13th July 2008 in Paris, a multilateral partnership between Mediterranean countries and the European Union proposing to increase regional integration and cohesion.
